Hi Mercedes…. I’m Paulie Stewart, a friend of your mom and dad’s, and Jeff Stewart’s mother….

I’m so happy for you that you have this great job.

Let me throw the “cat among the pidgeons”.

A few years ago I wrote to the Relief Society General Board Presidency with a proposal.

Here it is….we are 5 million strong as a Relief Society. It is time the sisters did something to contribute to the plight of women all over the world. It’s time we did more than make “sequined-covered fly squatters”……

If every RS sister contrbuted just $5.00 a year, we could set up a fund to help the poor women in the world

We could easily raise $25,000,000 without any hassle. I duobt that women would just conribute $5.00…the amount they would contribute could be staggering.

Their response (the general board) was that this was covered by the Humanitarian Fund…..

I think that, as sisters, we need a higher profile…..peopl need to know about us…..we need our own identity…we need to know that we are making a difference.

    The possiilities are endless….

    Keep up the good work.

    Thanks,

    Pauline
